VP of Human Resources (Sacramento)

  • We are recruiting a Vice President of Human Resources that is responsible for building a high-performing, skilled staff to execute the mission of a fast-growing reform movement, and must have exceptional understanding of people, organizations, and how they achieve excellence. This position works closely with the senior management team to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the best talent available. Direct placement opportunity.

    Key Responsibilities
    Reports to the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for the following:

    1. Creating and implementing a strong vision for how talent will be an ongoing strategic asset as we pursue our vision over the course of several years

    2. Creating and implementing an organization-wide talent acquisition progress to attract and retain high-performing staff, including from non-traditional sources

    3. Creating cost-effective and reliable personnel systems
    •Directing and leading the planning, development, implementation and administration of human resource programs and policies
    •Putting in place and managing a top-flight human resource team, while ensuring that HR-related functional resources are developed, leveraged, and shared in a manner that continually enhances our ability to reach its goals
    •Overseeing annual talent development and human resource budget
    •Analyzing and modifying compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
    •Acting as an advisor and coaching leaders on human resource and employee relations issues as well as strategic and operational people programs
    •Ensuring organization compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulation

    4. Implementing a culture and performance management system focused on excellence.
    •Ensuring that the organization has a clear understanding of value, beliefs and core attributes to create a strong cohesive culture
    •Overseeing the development, implementation and enhancement of a performance evaluation and staff development program
    •Overseeing employee training and professional development programs
    •Coaching managers on difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, handling performance issues, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures
