The systems administrator acts as a critical layer between technical support and engineering. The systems administrator is responsible for hands-on daily management of internal and customer information technology systems, and will be instrumental in handling the multitude of ongoing projects that arise during the course of doing business
Systems Administrator Essential Responsibilities:
• Management for long-term IT projects
• Maintain internal and customer systems (Backups, patching, deployment, monitoring, servers, networks, applications, and databases)
• Understand, design, administer, and troubleshoot MS Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint and SQL Server
• Customer communication
• Provide support for technical issues of a 24×7 environmentSystems Administrator Skills Required:
• Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and applications
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008
• VMware
• Active Directory, Exchange
• Remote Desktop Services
• Basic network administration (switch configuration, VLANs, routing)
• Experience/knowledge of designing, administrating, and troubleshooting backups, restores and general server maintenance and upgrades.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring systems (examples: Nagios, Cacti, Splunk)
• Scripting experience a plus (PowerShell, VBScript, bash)
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, troubleshooting, and organization skills
• Flexible and able to manage multiple projects with various priority levelsDesired Candidate Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in a related field: Tier-3 Technical Support, Junior Systems Administrator, and similar
• Certifications: MCITP-SA, MCSE, CCNA, VCP — Strongly Desired
