The Cordova Casino & Restaurant is looking for qualified Security Officers to join our team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

Monitors entrances and exits; prevents unapproved or unlawful entry; monitors casino floor, storage areas and parking lots; directs persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property. Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activities to shift supervisor or Law enforcement authorities as appropriate and as required by the Casino.

Patrols the Casino checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations; assists with mechanical investigations. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, floods, elevator emergencies, and hazardous materials. Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.

Makes chip pickup and fills, jackpot verifications and card control duties. Provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions.

May be required to enforce State of California and federal laws. Apprehends suspects in case of prowling, unauthorized entry into buildings and work areas, malicious mischief, or other violations of State and Federal Laws.

Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings. Prepares accurately detained logs or reports. Enters information in a computer using proper grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required.

Technical Skills – Must understand the limits of 832 PC; Must have minimal working knowledge of the State of California laws; Must understand, interpret and explain laws and regulations and policies of the Casino; Knowledge of or ability to learn Security and Surveillance operations, casino style games and procedures; Must be able to perform all the duties of a Security Officer and may assist in the training of new Security Officers.

Customer Service – Communicates in a manner that is open, honest and responsive; provides information regarding the facility and surrounding area as requested by visitors; Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Must be able to maintain professional composure when dealing with circumstances.

To qualify for this position, each candidate must meet the following requirements:

High School Diploma

Must be at least 21 years of age

Pass background check (no felonies)

Must be available for all shifts including weekend, holiday, day, swing and graveyard shifts.

MUST HOLD A CURRENT SECURITY GUARD CARD OR PROPRIETARY PRIVATE SECURITY OFFICER REGISTRATION

Bi-lingual a plus
