Parent Educator for "Parents As Teachers" Program (Auburn)

  • The Parent Educator position is a full-time position and reports to the “Parents As Teachers” (PAT) Program Supervisor. Certified Parent Educators utilize the nationally recognized “Born To Learn” curriculum to deliver quality, home-based training to pre-natal parents and parents with children birth up to age 3.

    Qualifications:
    A four-year bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or related field is preferred, or a two-year degree with 60 college hours in early childhood development is required. A minimum of two years supervised experience working with a culturally and socio-economically diverse population of children pre-natal up to age 3 and their parents or caregivers is essential and highly recommended. Bi-lingual Spanish is required.

    Job Requirements (include but are not limited to the following):
    Conduct home visits to provide strength-based prevention and intervention strategies for parents and their children.

    Record and maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with agency policies, practices, and state standards.

    Acquire knowledge and expertise of the agency reporting tracking software programs and other various database systems.

    Participate in community outreach events as needed and required.

    Must have reliable transportation and clean DMV report.

    Perform all other duties assigned, and adhere to ongoing policies, program standards, and supervisory directives.
