Inspectors and Construction Field Staff – Water Resources & Public Wor (Northern California)

  • Anchor Engineering represents a variety of public agency project owners in the field during construction. We are seeking highly qualified and able staff members for the following positions:
    • Inspector / Construction Representative
    • Office Engineer / Project Administrator
    • Project Controls, Scheduler, and /or Estimator

    Applicants should have solid, specific experience in similar roles and projects, as well as a bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering discipline, PE preferred. Potential applicants without public works experience need not apply. We are especially interested in applicants with responsible experience, training, and education in:
    • Microtunnelling
    • Office Engineering, scheduling, and estimating
    • Construction Management
    • Claims Analysis and Forensic Engineering

    The WATER RESOURCES INSPECTOR CATEGORY requires specialized experience and knowledge of systems such as pumping plants, water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, reservoirs, canals, dams and levees. Ancillary systems of which knowledge will be useful include electrical power and controls, roads, buildings, bridges, embankments, and non-water utilities. Candidates must have field construction experience with similar systems, which may include water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants and collection systems, and industrial/chemical plants and delivery systems. Candidates must submit work history and references that clearly show commitment to quality in the constructed work, understanding of the project owner’s interests and agency processes, and to deep knowledge of water and wastewater systems.

    The PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR CATEGORY requires specialized experience and knowledge of civil engineering construction such as streets and roads, bridges, traffic signals and controls, utilities, parks, and parking structures. Ancillary systems of which knowledge will be useful include water tanks, pumping stations for sewage and water, bridges, embankments, and non-water utilities (such as electrical, gas, and communications). Successful experience working within public right-of-way and working with the public as stakeholders is essential. Candidates must have field construction experience with similar systems, which may include highway construction, railroad and light rail, mass grading, site development, and industrial/chemical plants and delivery systems. Candidates must submit work history and references that clearly show commitment to quality in the constructed work, understanding of the project owner’s interests and agency processes, and to deep knowledge of transportation and utility systems.

    Candidates will be required to provide references, take a drug test, and allow a background check. When hired, work will be in a blended environment with staff from Anchor Engineering, the owner agency, and other consulting firms, requiring excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
