Optima Networks- Journeyman Electrician, Livermore, CA

- Optima Network Services Inc. is a Telecommunications Services company that offers wireless network operators a variety of services to narrow the expanse between the expectations of today’s wireless services consumer and the ability of the network operator to meet or exceed those expectations. Core areas of Optima’s business include Civil/Cellular services, Microwave Engineer/ Network Services, Tower structure services and alternative power solutions. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Journeyman level Electrician that is eager to be part of a growing and dynamic team!!

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and an ability to place both the customer’s needs and the ONS reputation as a top priority — Excellent communications skills are a must, as this person will be required to effectively communicate both internally and externally as needed.

•Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
•Experience with hot work is a must
•Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
•Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
•Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
•Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
•Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
•Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Tower work, climb experience preferred.
•Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
•Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
•Ability to consistently complete projects within budget, as well as adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the Company and OSHA
•Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior and appearance
•Strong background with 24 to 48VDC, DC distribution systems, rectifier installs with battery backup, and UPS systems
•Experience with power cabinets such as Argus, Eltek Marconi preferred
•Schedule will vary and includes some travel as well as occasional night and weekend work

Required Skills and Certification: Must maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. Compensation to be determined DOE. Selected candidate must successfully pass drug screen, background, and PAT requirement.
