THE POSITION
 

 
Designs and produces art and copy layouts utilizing industry standard computer graphics software programs. Performs a dual role as a customer sales representative by assisting customers in taking their orders in person or via the telephone. This is a customer service oriented business, so tact in dealing with day to day customer problems and ability to resolve issues is a must!
 
Duties:
 
• Produces jobs in the order determined by the Production Scheduler. Jobs will be provided through a variety of means such as e-mail, the sales team and the front counter.
 
• Reviews pricing and ensures that design jobs are charged according to value using the Design Services Price Sheet
 
• Produces artwork based on customers’ needs and specifications in conjunction with materials they provide or request. Creates in-house artwork as requested or needed by management. Arranges for customer to review proofs and reviews quality of final product before release to client
 
• Maintains a work-in-progress (WIP) folder on the file server. Performs daily back-ups.
 
• Adheres to legal requirements related to duplication, printing, software and fonts.
 
• Quotes turnaround times to customers utilizing the "Standard Turnaround Chart."
 
• Assists sales team in cold calling and forwards the leads to sales team for further assistance
 
• Collects payments from customers. Responsible for collecting complete payments to ensure that all transactions are complete.
 

 
QUALIFICATIONS
 

 
REQUIRED
 
• At least one year experience in design-for-print, Mac, and PC network environments
 
• Individual should have experience with Adobe, Acrobat production plug-ins (Enfocus, ArtsPDF and Quite), Distiller, InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, QuarkXPress, Publisher, Word and Excel
 
• 2 to 4 year trade school certificate
 
• Maturity in evaluating priorities and manage the projects in a timely manner
 
• Energetic and enthusiastic in seeking new customers and providing quality customer care
 
• Excellent written, Oral, and interpersonal skills
 

 
PREFERRED
 
• Printing or graphic design background and industry knowledge.
 
• Familiarity with the Sacramento area business community
 
• 4 year degree in Design or Art
