APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY:
Level I: $46,634 – $56,701
Level II: $51,771 – $62,920
Plus Cal PERS, Medical, Dental and Vision (eligible from the first day of employment)Retiree medical coverage is provided per the terms of the appropriate Memorandum of Understanding for represented employees, or the Salary & Benefits Resolution for non-represented employees. New employees are not eligible for county contributions towards retiree medical coverage, but may purchase retiree medical coverage at their own cost. The eligibility cutoff date for county contributions towards retiree medical varies by bargaining unit. Please contact Risk Management with any questions concerning eligibility.
The County of El Dorado is conducting this recruitment to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the Air Quality Management District located in Placerville. It will also establish a list, for up to six months, which may be used to fill future full-time, part-time and extra-help vacancies.
DUTIES: Typical duties for this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting compliance inspections of stationary sources.
- Responding to complaints of illegal burning, fugitive dust and stationary source non-compliance with district rules.
- Supporting district grant programs by evaluating applications and reviewing progress reports.
Candidates must possess
Air Quality Specialist I: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field. Must obtain a Visible Emission Evaluation Certificate from the Air Resources Board within the first six months of employment.
Air Quality Specialist II: In addition to the above, one year of experience in air quality inspection and evaluation at a level equivalent to the County’s class of Air Quality Specialist I. Must possess a Visible Emission Evaluation Certificate from the Air Resources Board.
NOTE: The above qualifications are typically accepted ways of obtaining the required knowledge and skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
