After School Child Development Teachers **PT w/FULL BENFITS** (Sacramento, Elk Grove, Davis)

  • Our Child Development Center (CDC) serves both preschool and school age children. Our program is NAEYC accredited and influenced by the High/Scope and Reggio Emilia philosophical approaches. We have both FT & PT Associate Teacher/Teacher positions which BOTH offers Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life insurance and paid vacation/sick time. FT position is 7am -5pm and PT position is 1:30pm-6:00pm.

    QUALIFICATIONS –
    The ideal candidate must possess:

    * Education: AT MINIMUM MUST HAVE at least the 12 core units in child development, early childhood development (be able to provide transcripts) OR an AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or related field preferred
    * Current Child Development associate teacher permit or higher desired
    * Experience: prior childcare experience in preschool AND before/after school setting; AT LEAST 1 year or more with the ability to prepare lesson plans, anecdotal notes and portfolios
    * Knowledge of High Scope philosophy and experience with Desired Results Developmental Profiles (DRDPr) is highly desired.
    * Passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives
    * Strong teamwork and customer service skills
    * Flexibility to work alternate hours as center needs require

    DUTIES –
    The center provides preschool (age 3-5) as well as before/after school services (for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade). Teaching staff help students with their long-term project assignments and work with elementary school classroom teachers to develop and follow through with plans that support children’s individual needs. Our High/Scope framework enables children to plan, participate and review their daily experiences. As a teacher you would be responsible for:

    *Providing developmentally appropriate activities that are based on the interests of children supported by foundations in child development theory such as Reggio Emilia and High Scope.
    *Keeping children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions and practicing good health habits.
    *Creating enriched environments, exciting curriculum and quality learning experiences.
    *Working collaboratively with others, modeling our work place values, creating a great place to work and being a role model for others.
    *Excellent customer service by making authentic connections to our families, school, community and each other.
    *Adhering to Title 22 and/or Title 5 regulations set by the State of California.
